Your Input on Heroes

I love a good hero. To me a good hero is brave, selfless and always growing.
As I chug along towards the finale of Book 1 (I can't wait to share it with you all), I want to know what types of heroes YOU like. So, comment on this blog, Tweet me, email me, whatever... Just let me know what your stereotypical hero looks like.

Hero is a word thrown around by the media now and has very little to do with the heroic. It's one of those words, like "racist", "bigot", and others that have been so overused it almost has no meaning anymore.

To me a hero is anyone, military or civilian, who is in an extremely dangerous situation and moves forward when they really don't have to in spite of their fear and the danger involved. In combat there are often many heros by that definition. The difference between a hero with a medal and a hero without one is that someone saw the actions of the one with the medal and it was documented. The ones with the medals are often the first to say they didn't do any more, and maybe less, than many of their team who weren't recognized.
